Johnny is giving Dennis McBride and I instructions of where we should stand as not to ram into his guitar!!
I quit music altogether in about 1983 except for little get togethers. Then In 1991 I went to a bluegrass show at The Performing Arts building in Garland and happened to meet James Crawford on the front steps. He said that possibly Don Carroll and The Spring Creek Grass were looking for a banjo player. Their banjo man, Bill Babb was moving over to mandolin. One thing led to another and the next thing I knew I was playing bluegrass again. Of course these guys had been performing for twenty years before I joined them. And then, well, we kept right on playing for another fifteen years. We played some great shows over the years and we all have a lot of fond memories. I really miss those days now, but who knows? Maybe I'll get back to playing again in the future.
